Can dry ice be used instead of water ice to make bubble hash?

Yeah the dry ice sublimates and won't ever "melt" and mix with the water, but won't the fact that it's a lot colder than water ice make it better for cooling the water down?

Week 4, day 1 of flower....buds too small??

SHEESH! Well, anyway...I think the plants will do okay if you just let them recover. The stalk looks nice and thick....I dunno...I think the plant could still yield some decent buds. People will say to not check the runoff....but I do it all the time. It certainly doesn't hurt anything. Soil is...

Can dry ice be used instead of water ice to make bubble hash?

I'm not talking about shaking dry ice and weed through a filter bag. I'm talking about replacing the regular water ice with dry ice to keep the water colder for a longer time. Has anyone tried it?

4x4 grow lights on a budget?

Can't complain about my Viparspectra XS 1500 Pro(s) -I have two of them....less than $150 delivered after coupon and Cyber Monday sale. It's one of the best reviewed lights on the MIGRO channel. It's small and easy to hang. They can daisy chain. You can add more as needed. EDIT: I didn't see...

    Drying and curing

Yeah, I always wondered when curing weed came into being. It certainly didn't exist in the 70's! But, somewhere along the way, people wanted to try and "mummify" the buds in order to preserve them as long as possible with as little degradation as possible....because it might be a long time...

    Ph level adjust

To answer your OP: Yes, you can pH your incoming water at a level to compensate for soil pH. If your goal is a soil pH of 6.0-6.5 and your soil runoff or slurry test is 8.0, then you can pH your incoming water DOWN to 5.0 and run a bunch of it through the soil until your runoff comes into...

UVC bulb in drying tent to deter mold?

Yes, I see what you're saying. But, what about those sterilizer "wands" that you swipe over stuff? That's only a quick swipe and it supposedly kills any spores, viruses, bacteria, etc. I'm thinking that if I was to put the UVC bulbs on a timer that would come on for, say a minute inside the...

UVC bulb in drying tent to deter mold?

I'm just wondering about an idea to put a UVC bulb in the drying tent and having it on a timer to cycle on and off as an extra measure to deter mold. I know that light degrades the weed, but if it only comes on for a short period of time, I'm not sure if it would make a difference as far as...

What to remove? This looks too much...

The size of the buds depends on genetics (mostly). I have two phenotypes of one strain growing and they are uniquely different from each other in almost every way. They grew side-by-side in the exact same conditions. I've had other plants produce large, hard colas right next to a different...

The AeroLight A150SE, 150W LED Grow Light

In my opinion, the best light for a 2 X 2 is the ViparSpectra XS 1500 Pro. They are about $80 on Amazon if you clip the coupon. I've got two of them.....love them so far.

    Potassium Deficiency or Overwatering?

    1. Add 1 TBSP of dolomite lime to every gallon of soil and mix in well. I also added a few TBSP of chestnut-shell bio-char. I completely abandoned the "organic" approach to fertilizer and started using the Jack's 3-2-1 system. 2. Make sure that you pH the incoming water slightly high until...

    Nanners. What to do?

Yeah I think at 9 weeks, just pluck them out as you see them. You might get a proto-seed or two buried in a bud...It's not a big deal. IF they would have started throwing them early in flower, then you'd have a bigger worry, but you're almost home.

How cold can drying room be if 60% RH?

If I can make the drying room colder than 60F, then just HOW much colder can I go before potential problems might arise? The RH% is pretty much 60% all the time. Thanks

    Potassium Deficiency or Overwatering?

It doesn't hurt anything to check the runoff...like I said "just for giggles..." I was always TOLD the same thing....No need to check runoff....etc, But it's nothing to fear and only takes a few minutes to do. I did it, in spite of advice otherwise...and it paid off big time by confirming my...

    Potassium Deficiency or Overwatering?

Just for fun, check the runoff water pH. I'll bet the soil is overly acidic. I run almost the same soil mix as you and this last time, my plants started to look really sick. I knew it was not a deficiency because the soil should have plenty of nutrients in it right out of the bag to last at...

    Did I lollipop too much

I've got a similar-looking plant. It should be okay. Just don't mess with it for awhile and allow it to recover.

It does okay so far when I move it around.... IF (and I don't think it will)...but IF it starts to bulk up, it will be supported by the tent walls and the other plants.
