    Flowering in CA ?

Yes. I popped seeds in mid April, done a lot of trimming for low bush with at least 20 tops. Does seem like flower development is a bit earlier this year; seemed like stretch I was expecting ended early. Running THC/CBD plants: Chemdawg CBD, Critical CBD and Sour Tangie, which is supposed to be...

    Flowering in CA ?

Me too. Growing three from seed and two are already starting to look like dense spears with tons of pistils and beginnings of frost...

Thoughts on Indoor vs Outdoor Quality

Love how you leave the low branches...those often end up being the best colas

Thoughts on Indoor vs Outdoor Quality

Yes, that is what I have tried to do, but with seed. I also wash my outdoor buds- it makes a big difference. My indoor harvests seem to have more intense terrines and aromas, while outdoor gets huge dense buds and seems similar in potency, but where I live I have not been able to get color out...

Thoughts on Indoor vs Outdoor Quality

I’ve done about 10 indoor grows and 4 summer outdoor grows here in SoCal. Wondering what my fellow growers think about indoor vs outdoor. Some swear that outdoor can be more potent; does anybody have any data on that? Ive grown Purple punch indoor and outdoor from same seed bank this past year...

    average yield for outdoor plants

I’ve worked more than 30 years with children and families in need and in poverty. That is my point: the programs are not sufficient, and family problems are often much more complex than can be helped much by programs, counselors, etc. no matter how caring and competent the program. I’ve...

    average yield for outdoor plants

Yes, in 90’s and early 200’s, the air was indeed better. Not today! Worse than ever. I wish I felt the love for our state I used to. But I have seen overcrowding explode; homelessness is orders of magnitude worse; racial polarization worse than ever; much of LA city area is full of trash like...

    average yield for outdoor plants

Have you lived and worked in Los Angeles? THIS is the best place in earth? Best climate and some beautiful places and scenery. That’s it. (Oh, and legal weed, of course). What is better here in Cali today than in past decades? I live and work in the real Cali with real people and issues, and...

You have more faith in alt fuels than us warranted. The power provided by electricity only makes sense if powered by fossil fuels and nuclear. Our modern economy can never be powered by wind and solar. I’ve been hearing this fantasy for decades. It is all wishes, but these alt fuels and...

Fire insurance?????? Electricity cost is highest in California, by far. Sorry, fossil fuels is where we have to be. Electricity, wind and solar will not get it done. If it was viable, we’d be there already and these alternate energy sectors would be booming. Instead, they all only survive with...

    average yield for outdoor plants

How about no gasoline cars for sale in 10 years? Or depriving farmers of water to save a smelt? Or how about rolling blackouts because of refusal to generate enough electricity to meet demand? The continued childish fantasy that we can meet electricity demand with wind and solar. The list is...

    average yield for outdoor plants

May be true, but issue is clear cutting around utilities, and letting brush build up around power lines is a main culprit. I’m not so quick to let Cali off the hook. We have the most over reaching, dumb environmental laws anywhere

    Open Show and Tell 2020

I was pleasantly surprised. Hand wet trimming a 4x4 tent harvest indoors is one thing, harvesting pounds of huge outdoor buds over a few weeks is another story... It did a good job of clearing most of the shade and sugar leaves, without eating too much into the bud itself. You clip the buds off...

    average yield for outdoor plants

I loved the Coarsegold area east of Fresno below Yosemite, and Gold Country- Placerville area east of Sacramento. Beautiful, and relatively low housing cost, but now almost impossible to even get fire insurance, and after this season even harder and more expensive to get. People paying $3-8k for...

Los Angeles County. So sorry about your loss! I am just sick over the forest mismanagement and the subsequent out of control wildfires we are seeing yearly now. I'd been dreaming of retiring up north in the Sierra foothills, but that dream is literally up in smoke...weed is legal here in...

Yes. Only took the biggest shade leaves off, washed, hung outside for a few hours until the water had all dried, then hung in dark tent. Too hard to do a tight trim at harvest date when dealing with more than a pound...actually bought a bowl trimmer to save my almost 60 year old hands...

    average yield for outdoor plants

Here in SoCal I recently harvested, and was able to get 3lbs of Cannatonic CBD in a 15g pot, and 25oz+ in 10 g pots of Purp Punch, Maui Waui and Koshur Kush. Started seeds in April, topped often to make 20+ colas. Payed close attention to nutes, control of bugs and mold, etc. to minimize loss...

    Open Show and Tell 2020

I just finished harvesting and starting the curing process on the two Cannatonic CBD (Nirvana Seeds-MKUltra/G13 cross) that I popped in April and grew in 15g fabric pots, with a coco/FF/pro mix/perlite soil mix I made. Used some different fertilizers, and I topped the hell out of them to get 20...

    Anyone’s plants budding yet ?

Love it! That is a serious amount of soil. What’d you fill it with? The sky’s the limit with a bucket that big!

    Anyone’s plants budding yet ?

Yes! I’m in SoCal and 3 of my 5 outdoor plants are well into flower with some hairs starting to turn red. Here are a few pics of Maui Waui and Cannatonic. Maui, a Sativa, looks like it will be ready in September.
