    1000w led for 6x6

correctly sizing lights to canopy area was one of the big reasons i moved away from sodium to diy led. with diy you can build the light exactly the right size and wattage for your needs. i know diy is not for everyone but i honestly think its worth the effort... to be fair your maths is a bit...

380 diodes per bar + epistar or 320 diodes + osram?

with that mix of whites the spectrum is coming out at 3533 kelvin and with the added 660 and 730 its dropping down to 3340K, so its already "warmer" than a lot of lights. id leave the whites as is.

380 diodes per bar + epistar or 320 diodes + osram?

what kelvin are they using for the whites?, do kingbrite not have any spectrum graphs for these lights?.

380 diodes per bar + epistar or 320 diodes + osram?

if you want to go a step further ask kingbrite to make you the strips with 60 osram 660's and 15 osram 730's and pay the extra money, it wont really be any "redder" because you still have the same power budget but will be more efficient and the reds get an easier life with the lower current.

380 diodes per bar + epistar or 320 diodes + osram?

you really need to know what model number the osram and epi diodes are before you can make a valid comparrison. its more than likely that the osram diodes are significantly more expensive than the epi's hence the difference in amounts used, also the osrams will be more efficient than the epi's...

    Is far red dead

still doesnt make sense... i dont get what your trying to say?. UVC definitely, UVB maybe (depends on application), UVA nope. i think there is definitely something going on with the synergistic effect between the uv and far red ends of the spectrum, if we look at the suns spectrum it has...

    Is far red dead

for me the benefits of far red are no longer up for debate, end of day effect, emerson effect and like rocket says using far red to counter some of the less desireable effects of uv. BUT!... its not magic. getting the basics right (having enough PAR light (400nm-700nm), hitting VPD, getting...

    Is far red dead

that doesnt make any sense?. infra red is way beyond the band of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) that plants use to grow.

    Is far red dead

?, hps lights dont have loads of far red. but they have plenty infra red. and the reason why people left sodium behind is all about efficiency not spectrum.

    Red light best for budding?

yep at least it looks like they were thinking of what they could do to improve/fill out the spectrum, a little less blue 450nm and it already looks more appealing than a lot of spectrums you see on modern lights.

    Red light best for budding?

growcraft make a high quality light no doubt (and so they should cause they arnt cheap), but their spectrums are unremarkable. its the same spectrum everyone uses who chase efficiency first and foremost. roughly 4k white plus as many 660nm as they can afford to cram onto the pcb. the only reason...

    Red light best for budding?

if the following spectrum is correct then i wouldnt be running the blue at all in flower, 50% blue?...

    Red light best for budding?

its the same. if you had a white light source with a red filter, the filter blocks all the other wavelengths of light apart from the red. if you had a red filter tunned to 660nm the filtered white light would be no different to red 660nm wavelengths produced by a mono led. obviously massively...
