Crab legs are now in and the CFL is out. In total I have 7 2700k and 6 5000k. I should probably do a grow journal, but this is my first grow. I just watered them when I took the pic so they're not as spritely as they should.

these are taking off. The auto AK is starting to catch up to its brother and I had to do some more LST tonight. Hard to believe these only sprouted on 10/30. One note too- you'll see I scraped a couple of the Crees. I just make sure I turn those away from the plants.

I got mine within 5-6" w/ 45° angles on all lights except the CFL. No signs of bleaching I can see and the blueberry auto is really taking off. Will post more pics tomorrow.

I'm going to start putting some more flowering bulbs in on the sides via crablegs.

You think it's enough? I'm thinking I'm running a little lite.

Here's my current setup- 6 5000k Crees, 2 2700k Crees, & that 65w cfl more for heat.

So, at the end of the day, you'll still get decent flowering from the new style 2700k Cree, just not as good as the old style Cree, yes?

No- they're being bent past each other, but you can't see it w/ the leaf canopy.

Well, I think I made my first rookie mistake and found the problem: I left the timer switch to 'on' rather then 'timer'. The two plants have been getting 24 hr light for at least the past three days.

My first cabinet grow- an auto AK and an auto blueberry. Soil grow (FF amended w/ perlite and moisture crystals). Sprouted on 10/26 and nothing but water since. I initially had them on two 65w, 6300k CFLs and added two Cree 13w daylights (thanks, Capt!). I kept the CFLs 1.5-3" away from both...

Looking at that some more, 3k is at the borderline for flowering, isn't it? I was always taught that the 3-4k was useless :confused:

Are there any other off the shelf LEDs at HD or Lowe's that can be used like the Cree's?

That's what I'm wondering too. I have 2 weeks of veg left & if the new Crees won't cut it for bloom or you need twice the number of old, I'm ordering a Blackstar UFO unless there's another off the shelf LED at HD or Lowes.

I might give it a shot- figured the worse that happens is I get burned for $200.

Anyone do it? Saw prices ranging from $175-350 a Z for some good strains. It's not alot of money so if it's a rip, it's not too big a problem, but I don't want to waste my time if it's a Nigerian scam.
