whats the best affordable air intake filter? there is the Organic HEPA air intake filter for $90. just wondering if I would be okay with furnace filters covering my intake vents. or if there is another cheaper alternative?

anyone have experience w/ these? they're cheaper than other brands. hows the quality? I'm interested in their 8" can/filter combo at $260 (590 cfm). how would this compare to a "CanFan" setup in terms of performance, durability, and service? (i'd save about $200)
