I do both, I use a screen and place what will stay where I want and then tie off to the grid (or top of pot) if they don't stay where I put them.

Just did my first full veg with florescent, I loved it. I agree with it being easier to control legging, temp, humidity, and its easier on the eyes. But I am just getting back into it and will be doing my own comparisons before I swear off HID for veg. HPS or sunshine for flower though.
