Haha ya it's an overkill idea but why not if budget is no issue. Seriously I have have no doubt I could get away with it in my basement but I have no idea what his ambient surroundings are like. The 1000w in my tent even with the fan on a low setting 75ish all day.

I would do 2x1000w mh/hps, currently I have 1 in a 4x8 but it's getting upgraded after this break in grow I have going on. Mind you have no issues with temps where I live.

Actually the Hortilux took first but there was little difference from the next 2 brands, can't recall brand but they're the usual suspects mentioned. But I do remember the dual being significantly lower on the par rating.

I run 250cfm exhaust with carbon filter 24/7 on a rheostat so I can perhaps keep the temps a touch higher or lower if wanted and just draw house air through the tent vents. Humidity and temps stay pretty consistent and my house has ZERO smell. 8x4x6'6 tent

I watched a comparison on several name brand bulbs and the dual arc finished last in the comparison.

Thats pretty cheap no doubt, I grabbed a 1000w digital ballast (switchable and dim), cool tube with Hortilux HPS and wing deflector for 150 Canadian...or in conversion 22USD. We don't get new deals in my neck of the woods like that so used is first choice.

Yes based on recommendation and it usually drops to 6.5 after I mix a 5 gallon pail. Using Botanicare Pro and growing in Pro-Mix with perlite and some Sea Soil mixed in, getting a baseline was my main goal. I'm planning on hydro grow next so it doesn't hurt to get used to things involved right.

Ya I moved cities so it was never an issue for me but I went on the water report for my area and it was averaging over 8.2 so I bought some decent digital meters for PPM and PH, Phd to 6.7 added what I use for feed and they're growing WAAAY better.

I had similar issues early in my plants, turns out my tap water was 8.4ph. They actually grew quite nicely until they got bigger and then shit went weird so correction was required.

Anyone use the GH Eurogardener? I got one super cheap and it's going to be my first hydro effort after my soil is finished up.
