Yeah, 250 Watts is good enought for 3 plants. If you can, I'd recommend using a 250 Watt metal halide light for vegetation, then use the HPS for flowering. Metal Halides aren't nearly as expensive as sodium, so it wouldn't be that much more expensive all together. I bought a 400 W metal...

The first pic is the start of week 2 in the hydro unit. The next 5 I took today. These are now about to complete their 2nd week of flowering. No buds yet, but the plants have doubled in size since I first switched over to 12/12 lighting.

I don't know anyone that's used LED lights before, but i've seen pictures and you can get some great results. I wanna say for vegging you can use both the blue and red lights, but I know that the blue light is the better one for vegging, and the red is best for flower. I'd just use them both...

Also, as for watering. When the plants were seedlings, we would just spray them with distilled water from a spray bottle a few times a day. Get the cube nice and moist, but not sopping. you don't want to drown them.
