A LOT of time and effort can be wasted to to a bad meter. It is best to buy a quality one and calibrate it often. Plus this is your first time so are you 100% sure about your PPM levels? Are you factoring in the PPM of the tap water or RO water first? Wht does that read before adding nutes...

Also first and foremost verify that your meter is properly calibrated.
