    Noob questions regarding cob/blurples

Thanks for all of your replies, I'm going with 4ks, from the graphs I've seen they give the most bang for your watt in both blues and reds. And btw, my "goddamnit wtf should I use", was not meant to be taken as demanding, but like a frustrated man who just threw his arms in the air, more comical...

Eh this is getting frustrating, I'm just going to delete the thread if I have the option. Thanks anyways guys.

Yes, I was asking for a list of diodes that work well for growing weed. Which is specifically what this thread is best for. Otherwise I have to dig through thousands of diodes and I don't have the equipment to test for spectrums/PAR. So yes it makes perfect sense to ask you guys for this info...

Just to add another note... I know CannaBruh thinks it would only take 10 minutes to design a panel PCB, and he very well may have the know-how to do it that fast, but I personally know it would take me longer, especially if you're not just copying a professionally designed one meant for those...

Oh I think it was miscommunication on my part, I'm meaning that it would be cheaper for me to make these customized than anywhere else. And I would enjoy doing it. Like I said, I'm not trying to start a business. And NO ONE would want to fork out the money for a hot air rework station to save a...

Okay, but you have to make sure you have the right sized traces between LEDs, and you have to make sure the spacing is perfect for heat dissipation and for maximum luminosity. If that's a word. 56*3 seconds each is a little under 3 minutes. The longest part is making sure you have the negative...

Goddamnit, which is better, 3K, 3.5K, 4K, 5K? From the spectrum analysis charts it looks like 4K gives you the most light, 5 being too blue, 3 being too red, 4 having both. Fuck it I'm going with 4 until I can find some prefabbed PCBs to build my own. If I ever get to that point.

ooohhh, inch in width, 56 across. It sounded like there were 56 diodes in one inch of space. That's no big deal with a hot air flow device. Either an oven or wand. I've done this for TV's that have LED panels blow out, the painful part is taking the TV apart and the diffusers glued on, the...

I'm looking at samsung f3 series strips as a basis for comparison, they run about $13 a piece, I haven't even heard of a 1' strip with 56 diodes on it, seems like overkill. I could solder an f3 equivalent in about 5-10 mins with a hot air rework station including prep time. NOT a soldering iron...

Hey guys, I'm new to growing, not electrical engineering, and had some questions about building my own LED strands. I have a couple of hot air rework stations, and I figured it would be cheaper for me to make my LED lights than buy them, but I have to ask where are you guys buying your PCBs...

    Noob questions regarding cob/blurples

One other quick question, because of your comments about the differences between 3k/4ks, do these lights have stretching issues then? Because my blurpies have literally kept my 1.5 week old guys in the dirt, which could be normal, this is my first real grow. Their leaves are about 4 inches long...

Those look great! I love those tracks too. How are you holding those samsung lights up to the rails? I can't tell what those are, they look like cabinet handles haha. Question though regarding your phone setup, does your phone require an internet connection, and juice, to control your devices...

    Noob questions regarding cob/blurples

Hey guys, OP here, I'm thinking maybe I'll go a little higher than 300watts LED, perhaps 400, a higher driver and then I can build my own custom LED strips down the line to add to it as well. Question just to get me started before I do my more intense research: will 4k's be good for veg AND...

    Noob questions regarding cob/blurples

Okay, thanks to everyone, especially whytewidow, I'm leaning towards this: 10x SI-B8U261560WW, that's 3500K, only 127 shipped for 10 and 1x 320watt driver that he specified. And that will beat out my 4x ViparSpectre 130 Watt Lamps in both efficiency, startup costs, AND PAR values?

Also, where do you see 10 samsung f series gen 3 at 3000K for 137 shipped, on digikey they want 167 for 10 before shipping. part SI-B8V261560WW

I wouldn't need any kind of heat sinks? The aluminum would be enough?

    Noob questions regarding cob/blurples

hmm, I'll look into that. I read somewhere that LED strips don't seem to last very long, start to dim out and die, do you know what kind of warranty these have?

    Noob questions regarding cob/blurples

Are the benefits between these and what I'm using THAT big to where it's a no brainer? I'm finding sooooo much dis and misinformation, so many people raving about cobs but then I see sellers of the kits on here and I'm struggling to cut through the bullshit and find some actual facts about what...
