Pumping water from below the pump?

Think this might answer my question https://hevvypumps.com/blog/tech-talk/do-pumps-suck/21/68357 As long as water is in the pump the hose will be a low pressure zone and continue to pull water into the pump until the hose is below water level

Pumping water from below the pump?

I have low profile reservoirs and was wondering today if I put an elbow on the intake of my submersible pump and put a pipe length pointing to the very bottom of my reservoir would the pump continue pumping water even if the water drops below the pumps original intake? This might be a stupid...

At doses around 3ppm? I don't see how

    Pool shock - sealed room

Lots of people use under 5ppm chlorine. Chlorine is a micronutrient for plants. Hydrogen peroxide is a controlled substance here. I'd need 10l of the 10% solution every week to make a dent in killing bacteria in my large resevoirs

    Pool shock in sealed room

You'd put the uv light in the return pipe I suppose so every rotation would go through UV But I guess chlorine should do the job of getting algae under control, debris from plants is my next concern

    Pool shock in sealed room

Yeah I could line all my tanks with light block sheeting but that would make accessing the filters even harder. If I up my ppm of chlorine to 4ppm and keep it running at 4 ppm hopefully I'll never have the algae issues. Will chlorine break down dead roots over time aswell?

    Pool shock in sealed room

Alright I'll keep my ppm of chlorine no higher than 4 just incase. After this algae clears up my only other concern is the dead roots that might fall into the reservoir. Vertical pipes holding the plants are directly above the reservoirs so it makes it difficult to get into the tanks to hand...

    Pool shock in sealed room

I might try putting filters on my return line and on the intake to each of my pumps and just clean the filters every week and hope that does the job, if the filters catch all the debris it should hopefully be easy to clean it all out

    Pool shock in sealed room

Surely chlorine should work as a permenant fix it's used in swimming pools all the time and they don't stop the light leak in the pools? Would be quite a bit of hassle for me to line nearly 8m of exposed reservoir so to the size of it. It's 500l in total 8m x 0.5m x 0.34m worth of totes...

    Pool shock in sealed room

Alright I'll dial it down to 1ppm - I have an algae outbreak atm I want to get rid of. I have an aeroponic system that I designed my self and unfortunately I can't stop light getting into it with the way it's designed In a small space. Will pondzyme survive with 1 ppm chlorine?

    Pool shock in sealed room

I had actually considered this believe it or not but not sure if their poop would be worse to deal with or if they would survive in 4ppm chlorine

    Pool shock in sealed room

I considered enzymes but I assume using pool shock would kill off any enzymes?

    Pool shock in sealed room

Thanks for the serious answer lol was just concerned that it could be a problem. Can anyone suggest an easy way to remove dead roots and debris that may have fallen into the res without having to move/ empty the buckets?

    Pool shock in sealed room

i posted this in another area of the forum. Reposting here as I probably posted it in the wrong area. https://www.rollitup.org/t/pool-shock-sealed-room.955678/ Just wondering if anyone has had experience using pool shock in a sealed room. Air is not ventilated and I can smell chlorine in the...

    Pool shock - sealed room

ive started using calcium hypochloride in my reservoir as I have been getting issues with algae growing - it's very difficult to find light proof totes where I am and it's just easier to sterilise the reservoir than to spray paint all my water tanks. I have a sealed room with Co2 and it's...

    Growing weed with good flavor

Well these BOG strains hopefully will turn out good. They don't seem to be talked about a lot, but I've not read a single bad word about them, only amazing reviews

    Growing weed with good flavor

An exhaust would probably increase my temps in the summer here as it will just pull in warmer air. I'm thinking of using a small room with a small bathroom exhaust just big enough to keep air fresh and then use an evap cooler to cool the air as well as humidify. Obviously I've been lacking...

    Growing weed with good flavor

Alright I've found those charts you mentioned. Looks like I'm going to have to find another room to use. Would the room need an exhaust or could I use a small carbon filter circulating in the room? With a small humidifier

    Growing weed with good flavor

Ok that helps thanks, I plan on increasing my humidity to 60% in my flower room in future as I feel it definitely helps with a Co2 grow. I'll get hygrometer and sealable buckets and start experimenting. How long do you leave the hygrometer in the bucket before checking the RH to see if you...

    Growing weed with good flavor

My drying room is unfortunately in the corner of my flower room, light proof but is around 28c average. Is it better to dry in colder temps than this?
