No argument with that. Best I ever pulled was 7 lb and a couple grams off 4000watts (4x600HPS and one 400MH). That's like .8g per watt and other than adding co2 I don't think I could have done better and I was happy as hell with those numbers. It took a lot of years and a lot of runs to get...

I would use full spectrum. On mine I can control the red and blue and the only practical application I see for that is turning off the reds if I'm trying to control plant height in veg but definately gonna see more vigorous growth running full.

Liquid Nitrogen.....great for pool bombs :-) My comp is first gen dual core and the processor runs hotter than hell. Have cooked two mother board but after 4+ years it's still faster than my new laptop. I actually took the side panel off and have a fan from my growroom blowing right at the...

That was exactly it, look like large but immature plants. I didn't really want to say anything but was curious as hell what would do that. I vegged in 1 gallons and my plants didn't fill out like I hoped either but I didn't have medium problems so I'm doing okay. Well sucks that they had such...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

Well when you get it built I am totally subing that grow. Kudos for doing it homegrown. I looked into building but I guess I had enough of building electronics in my lifetime :) I really like the idea of those reflectors instead of lenses, I mean why give up 10-15% of your light. The...

I'd give it a shot :) Just followed the link to that website and every light comes up with a price of $249. Must be some sort of error but maybe you can use that to your advantage. I don't know a thing about UFO's and I thought they were a seperate manufacturer but after doing some googling...

I'd be inclined to move the plants and lights closer together and take advantage of as much cross lighting as possible. What light were you vegging under? How long they been in the big pots? Not familiar with that strain at all but they seem kinda spindly. Have you run that strain before and...

Heat shortens the life, reduces the intensity and shifts the spectrum of LED's. It's not speculation or BS. Hudson go point a Laser Thermometer at your Blackstar and shut me up :) While you're at it can you run a grow under your Blackstar and put some numbers up.....lol

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

I think the point of LED's is to focus on the spectrums of light absorbed by Chlorophyll A & B which is pretty much only the blue and red portions of the spectrum. White light contains all the colors and thus there is an element of waste. I'm not a scientist by any stretch but I believe that's...

I was waiting for you Hudson :) If you read the entire set up of the EU guy he is using 1Watt LED's and has changed his power supply to drive them at 50% power to LOWER THE TEMP OF THE METAL PANEL by 15C. He also doesn't have them crammed in or have a shield over the front to hold in heat...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

I would bet you'd be happy as hell with 2 over 3.5 by 7. For sure you would get more weight running three but there is the law of diminishing returns and you would probably get more yield just running the third one over its own grow area. Remember that these units use 60 degree lenses to get...

Holy f Spuzzum....thank you...thank you. Everytime I mention that heat sinks are there for a reason I get slaughtered by the Blackstar boys....lol Who make your 660nm's? Don't tell me its CREE :-)

Is there any technical information or Grow Journals that back up the claim that heat sinks aren't needed? I find that very misleading. If you look at the tech specs on ANY led they are thermally sensitive in both output intensity and spectrum stability. Feel free to doubt me and check it out...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

I don't think I'd pull it apart and risk f'ing up your light. Hudson took some pics of his apart and was very hard to see much except that there was no heat sink and there's some debate about whether that matters or not. LED's actually run fairly cool as long as they're not being overdriven so...

So a Blackstar 240 is good for about a 2 by 3 coverage area? Got any guess how tall a plant it would penetrate in that sort of coverage area? How high above the canopy does it hang to cover that? Any idea what the lens angle is on those? Hope u don't mind all the questions.....still very...
