    NFT hydro

thats cool, I was told I could just germinate them in the cube and leave them in the nft system with plain water, I just had to support the cubes. My nft system is very improvised. I had to build the entire thing from scratch. I could have done a better job, but i'll make do for this grow. Next...

    supporting oasis grocubes.

yeah, true. I just want to stabilize the oasis gro cube and allow the roots to grow un-obstructed.

Micro/trace source for DIY salt mix

MnCl may be difficult to create on your own, but if you buy some Mn off of ebay and you'd most likely have to make the HCl if you were motivated http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJLHhDTuGr0&feature=related.

Micro/trace source for DIY salt mix

Excelerite seems like an interesting fertilizer there isn't too much info on it that I could find though. Looks like it could be very good. If you decide on making your own I think I would try combining Iron, zinc, molybdenum and copper chelate and MnCl2. I've never done anything like this, but...

Micro/trace source for DIY salt mix

Depends on how much of each micro nutrient you want. I'm not sure how plants deal with various anions, but if you create compounds with acetate they will most likely be extremely soluble in water and not contribute to npk ratios. Maybe hydroxide compounds could be cool also just to neutralize...

    supporting oasis grocubes.

Would it be ok to support my 3/4 in oasis grow cubes in a 2 inch net pot with small stones? also what could I find outside that could act a medium and support the cubes (maybe moss?)?

    Nft question

I want to make sure that this size is too small, then I will most likely resort to dwc. Thank you though.

    Nft question

Do you think a 4.5in x 16.5in channel will be enough to hold the root system of one plant? What would you reccomend if it isn't? Thanks on advance

    First hydroponic grow coming soon

Im going to be growing my first hydro grow in an nft channel system and I was wondering whether a 4.5 in by 16.5in channel would be enough to hold the root system of a plant from seedling to harvest time?

Multimeter as a tds meter... perhaps

also this is cool http://www.66pacific.com/ph/simplest_ph.aspx (you have to copy paste the link) someone did the work for us, so looks like a multimeter is the most efficient tool available.

Multimeter as a tds meter... perhaps

read, this made me very happy, it may make you happy as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PH_meter I'm ordering a decent multimeter as we speak. unfortunately I don't have any means of measuring tds ill make a guess at what the ppm and EC should be for my town. Back the the pH meter thing...

Multimeter as a tds meter... perhaps

I think that it would be feasible that if one had a good multimeter, it would be possible to tell the ppm and EC of a nutrient solution or even tap water after receiving the impedance (resistance) readings and using a little math. Starting with the electrodes exactly (or as exact as one might...
