hahaha. its the UVB that u tan in. theres more UVB rays in MH than HPS. get some UVB lights from the pet store. they have CFLs that you can use but i mean i still wouldnt recommend it. too much risk in skin cancer and aging. UVB are harmful to all forms of life.

the HPS plugs into a ballast, the ballast is what plugs into the wall. if you were able to directly connect the HPS to the wall you would have a fire. it always has to go through a ballast first. some do have the ballast built in already. but youll be better off gettin a lamp and ballast...

whats up! i have 2 10.0UVB's to on my plants along with a 400w hps, i leave them on all day. i only got them about a month ago and the plants only have 1-2 weeks left. but within the 1 week i got a slight burns on some of my fan leaves. not on my buds just some of the fan leaves. but its cool...

i agree with the Y adapters. they are like $1 each and add more light. how many plants are you planning on having? do you know if your growing more sativa or indica? or even better what strain? your prob gonna wanna top it some to keep it low. but you dont want to top at any point in flowering...
