cheapest way to make a hood is an old carboard box, tinfoil and hot glue

so right now i have 12 sprouts all about 3" tall with 1 set of serrated leaves i have them on 16:8 photoperiod under 2 40w t12's for each 6 sprouts how long should i expect b4 their roots stretch out and not down and should i transplant b4 they are root bound?

right now only 2 but i made a reflector box and covered in tinfoil and they seem to being fine after i transplant them in about a week i should have about 6 100w CFLs strung up

thanks for the tips guys but i think im probably gonna go with CFL's they are the cheapest ill just string up 6 or 8 of em, stay fly

right now ive only got 100w over 15 seedlings but im moving to 100w cfl's for everyother one along with my t12's think thatll be enough?

what kinda lights you got on them and how big is your box? i just started my room and i gotta up my wattage soon so i just wanted to know how few lights i can get away with
