hi, is it good to use just a red 600w bulb when it starts to flower

Need help? Im getting mixed reviews on whats the best colour bulb for flowering. My friend used i a sun master 600w bulb on his last grow, but i keep hearing you should only use red 600w bulbs for flowering. Does anyone know whats the difference?
