Have 12 plants directly under lights with the two bigger plants not quite under lights

I have 4 plants per 600w hps an a humidity of 50 an temp at 28. I feed them 2l of water with 2ml of part a an b per plant about every 3 days. This is my first time growing so need much info as possible. But what I want to know as well is when would it be a good time to prune as i hear pruning...

It's been 3 weeks vege now when is it a good time to induce budding or would it have to more like the second photo. The second photo I had them out for two weeks before bringing inside. They get minimal light but still look like the healthy

When you pull them from under light they look green but just seeing why plants look sad
