    help with ventilation

I tried one of those my first cabinet grow...No they won't pull enough air to control temp/humidity. You need something that pulls air rather than pushing it the way a cpu fan does.

    Can i 12/12?

I looked at the pics real hard, but my eyes aren't so young anymore. You're right, Londoner, its called forcing, but I forgot the right term. My bad. As to the 12 weeks, that's 4 weeks rooting (which brings me to about how these look) followed by 8 weeks veg about 12" below a 1000 watt air...

    help with ventilation

The fans are in stock at hydroponic stores and nurseries that supply greenhouses. The charcoal filter you need is also available at hydro stores. Just hang the filter up high and run hose/pipe to the fan and out of your cabinet.

Are these plants the average size for thier age?

Your plants are all squat indica dominant hybrids or I think they all are (strawberry cough might be 50/50, but I think its 60/40 or thereabouts) so they should stay under 4' if you flower at 2'. I grow HP13 (mostly indica) and Mine gain about 5-7" height at 3' through elongation. After the...

    Can i 12/12?

Hmmm... in 7 years and 3 strains I've personally grown, I've never seen pistils on a plant that young without inducing flowering. I've never seen or heard about another plant showing sex that early under 18/6 or any other vegging schedule. A plant shouldn't show without inducement until 3...

    help with ventilation

Forgot to mention, the fan should cost around $30-50 and can be found at any grow/hydro shop. You shouldn't need a fan for intake, you can use a louvred (to help keep out light) vent from the hardware store over a hole in the cabinet near the bottom of the grow space to draw in cooler drier air...

    help with ventilation

Another way to keep light out is to install a charcoal filter before the fan, and then it cools your space and keeps out the skunk. Sounds like you'd do fine with a 4" hurricane fan, which can come out anywhere but the filter should be mounted high to draw out hot humid air. If your ballast is...

    Can i 12/12?

I felt the same way my first grow, but I regretted early flowering. You really are better off not flowering yet, but then I'm a professional grower so I don't have time for a 1' plant. Still, I think you'll learn more seeing the plant through its full cycle than rushing it. BTW, are you already...

Are these plants the average size for thier age?

The hps isn't entirely useless in veg, only the red end of the light it puts out (which encourages the production of floral hormones during flower) The bigger problem is stretch from the yellow. Every inch of stalk with no leaves or nodes is an inch with no flowers. Using mh along with them...

    How hot can it be?

About 90 is the top unless you have CO2 enrichment when you can go to about 100. Remember, though, that spider mites and other nasties love hot arid places and reproduce faster with higher temps. I keep my garden around 75-78 with rh 45-55%, and I've had no problems (yet) with pests or mold and...

    Can i 12/12?

Your light is way too far away! At this point the light should be about 6-12" above the canopy. Start them at 12" and let them grow into the light. Keep a close eye out for heat stress and keep lights about 1" above the danger mark. I would veg for another 4-6 weeks. Keep a close eye on moisture...

Are these plants the average size for thier age?

It sounds like you're right on track but there are variables I don't know. Strain, medium, hydro or pot, feeding schedule etc. all affect the growth speed. For an indica or pure indica in pots you're a little ahead of schedule. Also, you should really consider dropping the hps or switching them...

MALE???? HELP please my first time!!!!

Cloning is pretty simple. You can make clones from cuttings you would have anyway, such as when you top the plant. You can also make clones from cutting nodes and rooting them. Either way, cut at a 45 degree angle and finish with each before cutting another. Dip the cut end in rooting gel and...

    rail light mover

A light mover not only increases your growing space, but also allows the light to be closer and mimics the motion if the sun thereby giving your plants more light penetration. The trick is spacing your plants so that they don't touch. I know it sounds like less yield, but the plants will grow...

Help...Has anyone topped a plant before?

I have tried both topping and not and I really prefer pruning at weeks 4 and 6 of an 8 week veg. The first time, you "top" the plant to bring 2nd tier branches up to the top. Do this by cutting the taller branches just above a pair of nodes about 1 - 1 1/2 inches above the lower branches' top...
