I need to trim some of the bottom leaves off of a plant. The leaves died due to stress. The plants are too small and immature to just pull the leaves off. What is the best way to remove them? Another question I have is at what point should the leaves be removed?

The only thing I have fed the plants is a nute in the form of worm castings. The direction said to feed every six weeks so they haven't had a whole lot of nitragen. Grow has also been slow. What type of nutes would be good to feed with.

I visited a local farm supply store recently looking for a soil that would be suitable for grow potted plants. I came across some Butter Nut Farms pre-mixed organic potting soil. It has perlite, vermiculite, sand, and organic material in it. Has anyone tried it?

I am wondering what type of soil would be best for starting seeds. I have used a pre-mixed soil of mostly peet moss and perlite with a very small amount of nutes, but the growth seems very slow.
