Higher wattage means bigger resistor. Why pay more for a fatter resistor when a skinny eighth watt resister would work just as well?

I'm thinking about using wifi AC switch plugs (Tp-Link HS110) and an app to get the energy data (for my led drivers) displayed in the browser on my win10 pc. jamesbarnett91, on GitHub, coded an app that shows promise. https://github.com/jamesbarnett91/tplink-energy-monitor/blob/master/README.md...

Quarter watt (1/4w) would be fine. Not much power in those dim leads.

Question on resistors for pot on B series drivers.

Adding a 10 k resistor in series with the dimmer pot also limits the dim signal to 1 volt at minimum dimmer pot setting. Dimmer signal can't dim to zero but this is not an issue for users of dimmers with the 1-10v dimmer design.

    Potentiometers

For Dimmers that work on a 1 to 10 Volt signal: Some of us added a 10k resistor in series with the dimmer pot. This allowed us to compensate for a pot which was greater than 90k but less than 100k. The 100k dimmer setting is what allows full power to the LEDs. The 10k series resistor will...

2' or 4' Strips for 2x4 Grow Space?

Airwalker16 is correct. Both of these led strips (Digikey test data) operate at 46 volts x 1.12 amp = 51.12 watts of power & make 8670 lumens per strip. This means that you will need better heat sinks for the two foot boards because their power & photon density is double that of the four foot...

Digikey will be selling the new Samsung Horticulture Linear LED strips.

Emerald0siris found the datasheet download link for these LM301H diodes. I'll repost it here too. https://www.rollitup.org/attachments/data_sheet_lm301h_cri90_rev-1-0-pdf.4238125/

I think the only "flaw" I've read about involves DIY builders not using plastic washers between the 288 board and the screw heads. @Flash63 - are there plastic washers under the screw heads that hold the 288 boards to the framework?

    New to leds!!

You could, but....Timber suggest that rig would light up 16 square feet ( 4' x 4') while drawing 600 watts from the wall electrical socket. Divide 600 watts by 16 square feet = 37.5 watts per square foot and the light rig should be 18 inches above the plants. A 5' x 5' will have about 24 watts...

Veg light for 2.5x2.5 tent help!

You can dim the LED strips. There is a variable resistor (SVR1) on the LRS 150-24 power supply. This pot is something you set and then leave it alone. Apply a drop of nail polish to the pot once you have the desired wattage. Output voltage can be adjusted from 21.6 Vdc up to 28.8 Vdc. The...
