They look thirsty over anything else. But yes it’s time to topdress with castings and keep soil moist as much as possible. You could also throw some 5-5-5- or any all purpose dry amendments under the castings.

Do be disappointed. Lady bugs are not a super great thing to have. Yes they munch on aphids. But that means they are getting a meal at your plants. Much more like a flagship to signal you might have peat issues which require a deeper look. I’d rather relocate some stink bugs any day
