I've never checked the PPM. I just know that the plants grow perfect and the bud comes out dank as fuck so I keep everything the way it is. Roots Organic Soil in veg, Super Soil for flowering and plain water from the tap the whole way. Heres the Romulan last year at about 2-3 Weeks Flowering...

HAHAH dude that plant is so fucking beast mode

I pile in about 30 gallons of super soil into these holes and then I will put the dirt that I took out on top and plant the plants directly into that, in a few weeks after putting them in the ground they will hit the super soil and start to go nuts! EDIT: I also mix in the old used potting...
