Some would think so and thats fine. You cant go wrong with distilled water.

I would go with something like Neptunes Harvest or Jack's Classic. You should be able to find one or the other locally. If you cant anything will work as long as you keep an eye on your plants and dont over do it.

No they dont have to be 6' tall to use that much. I do not let my plants get over 36" and by the later part of flowering they are consuming AT LEAST 1 gallon per day.

They are all real good choices. Rather than worry about what people are using try a couple out and use the brand you are most comfortable with.
