There is nothing wrong with a bit of leaf mutation. Generally they have no affect on the outcome of your plants.

If there are no sign of bugs, and by the size of the chunks taken out of the leaves you'd be looking at a largish insect, then it could well be some form of leaf distortions rather than insect derrived.

How much pH down are you using? My guess is you are using a lot to counter the silica additive?
