I use a Calakamas coot mix.
Acadian Kelp Meal @ 1/2 Cup per cubic foot
Neem Cake @ 1/2 cup per cubic foot
Crustacean Meal @ 1/2 cup per cubic foot
Brix Blend Basalt @ 2 Cups Per Cubic Foot
Gypsum Dust @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot
Oyster Flour @ 1 Cup Per Cubic Foot
My base is. 1 part sphagnum...
I run Coco DTW in 2 gallon smart pots also in another tent. The reason the pots are that big is because it is a no-till organic grow/RLOS. I'm testing the difference in 10 gallons VS 5 gallons in this style of growing.
Pic 1: Here are some nice looking white roots from the CGS Rainbow Jones.
Pic 2: I had to mix up more LOS. I learned a lesson here. Always mix more than what's needed. That white stuff is not perlite. They are Grow Stones.
Pic 3: I finally got my 10 gallon pots and planted the ladies in them...
That won't be much of a problem. I'm already have it going in my organic Coots mix. The Blue Dream is the one in the upper right corner. I topped it and have it in a 10 gallon smart pot.
Pic 1: The plants as of today. I had to top the Skywalker Kush. It was climbing in height.
Pic 2: Is the Og Raskal Wi-Fi Alien that pretty much started growing two dominate tops on its own.
Pic 3: Is the 710 Seeds Cheese that pretty much did the same as the WFA.
Pic 4: The plants are not as...
That's where I actually got the recipe from. It was not a full half cup. It was a tad under. I felt it was a bit heavy on the BSM myself. Being new to organics I didn't want to deviate to much from the recipe. I have a big industrial air pump from my active hydro days.
I popped in 9 clones or so in the cloner. The plants are doing really well. I'm going to transplant them in their final containers soon. I might have to top the Skywalker Kush. Used the trimmings for a mulch. Hope I did it the correct way.
The plants are going strong in this CC mix. I'm loving every moment. The Cheese plant has been throwing single leaves but I think it corrected the problem.
Tea Recipe:
2 cups compost/vermicompost
1/2 cup of BSM (Black Strap Molasses)
5 gallons of tap water bubbled for a few hours with a bit of BSM to get rid of chlorine.( Thanks to microbeorganics.com for that trick)
This is my simple ACT.
A little late but... Have my tea going. Look at what a couple days in good soil does..They had some damaged roots from the transplant but they are responding well.
From upper left going in a clockwise rotation. Rainbow Jones, Skywalker Kush, Blue Dream, Cheese, and the other 2 being White Fire...
Will you be amending your base with anything and also is there any particular reason you chose coco coir over sphagnum peat moss? I'm new to organics but I have learned a ton over time.
It should be around 8 gallons of soil per hole. Which is a bit over a cubic foot of soil per hole. That gives you around 144 gallons of soil or 19.2 cubic feet. I would just mix up a cubic yard and call it a day just to be safe. Hope my math is correct and I helped you a bit.
