Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Electrical Question About Master Lighting Controller by C.A.P

A 1K light draws 4.5 amps @240V, which is what this controller runs on. Eight lights would be 36 amps.

Lol.........there's four limiting factors bro, not three. You forgot nutrients.

    2 Pounds Per Light

OZUT, you bring up some decent points regarding one's personal utility in growing; I a believer that we should all try to stay under 100 plants as often as possible no matter our legality (my last run of 142 in a 4x4 tray was simply a test to see how dense I could grow a SOG, nothing that I...

"Bro, thanks for pointing out that vegging needs to be considered as well when factoring in harvest weights; we're all very thankful, as it hasn't been discussed numerous times in this thread (i.e. SOG vs. SCROG and others)."

I noticed you didn't speak about your reflectors - FWIW, I've come to the conclusion (after using lotsa reflectors) that if you're aircooling your lights and not using MagnumXXXLs, you're not really helping yourself - I use the 6", but the Ochos are the tits - they're almost as large as the 4x4...

    2 Pounds Per Light

Yeah, it's a site designed for growers and is where I spend most of my time (saw this thread just doing some research and now I appear to be entangled in it somehow). If you need buckets, I have about 50 in my garage from when I designed a RDWC last year but never put it into use because I...

    2 Pounds Per Light

Ben, see post #55 in this thread. Would still love an answer to my question in post #141, as it seems like you've touched on all parts of that post save for answering the one question I asked you. I'll repeat and bold it here again for you: "If someone is getting 2+ pounds per 1000 watts...

    2 Pounds Per Light

Here's mine - it goes up to 200,000 lux (and the equivalent number of footcandles, right around 20,000), which is more than 50% brighter than the sun. Got it on Ebay delivered for $50, but that was simply for me to design a proper radius around my bare bulbed 600s - honestly, I'd say it's not...

    2 Pounds Per Light

Ben, most of our discussions devolve into ridiculousness, but I'd like this time to be different. Can you explain how you don't feel that it's a reasonable measure of efficiency to judge output (yield) by the most expensive input factor (electricity) - that is how most business analysts (as I...

    2 Pounds Per Light

Well that clears it up for us. Whereas this is true in dirt, in an automated hydro system the size of the pot/number of waterings is fairly irrelevant to how much time you spend in your garden. I pretty much followed Al B. Fuct's lead and checked my pH and PPMs every few days - took my...

    2 Pounds Per Light

Instead of a light mover, a better idea (IMO) would be to have two lights on a flip flop - less electricity usage (no mover moving, obviously) and less to go wrong (movers crap out all the time) - also easier to setup the aircooling, etc. I.e., instead of having a 1K on a mover over a 4x6...

    Free solution for Cooling reservoir

Copper will leech into your reservoir, which is why I use a stainless steel coil.

Can't agree more about moving to E&F - a simple, no nonsense hydro approach that doesn't require constant monitoring. If I could feasibly run a vertical E&F, I would (but I'm forced to do either aero or NFT with my setup). Good luck no matter which direction you end up going.

    Free solution for Cooling reservoir

If anyone runs a drain to waste watercooled CO2 generator, you could do what I did and attach a 50' cool coil inline with it to assist in cooling your reservoir: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWTX5CqEALw Figure the water is gonna get "wasted", might as well try to get two uses out of it...

3,5 meters x 2 meters vertical slab room grow

I use a welder's mask when I'm working in my flowering room - works great to keep me from going blind from looking at 2400 stacked watts. OP, please come back............melikes vert grows.

    EZ-Cloner problem

79F is at the uppper end of where you want to be for an EZ - although the manual that comes with it says 78F, that's a load of horseshit (IMO). Try to keep your temps more around 70F and you'll have to clean less and have much less problems with pathogens - might delay rooting by a day or two...

    Vertical Hydro Octagon

Wow, subbed for sure - are one of those pumps feed and one a return, or does gravity handle the return for you? And what exactly do you attach the twisty ties to - I made my own little octagon thingy and haven't figured out yet how to build a screen for it. Seeing as how we seem to run very...
