Yes. But since you are using the Lucas formula you might as well follow his advice and use Promix BX. It has vermiculite and holds more moisture.

Seedlings grow slow so I would just say 8 inches to a foot. Personally I go from 1 gal to 5 gal without skipping a beat.

Cut it with another soil. Pot up to a 1 gallon veg it to Maybe 12 inches then transplant into a 5 gal with ffof if you wish.

I use a blue labs meter 24 hour monitor. It's good quality you don't have to calibrate it often. I think their pens go for 140 Canadian dollars. I've done the whole cheapo Amazon thing and they just break easy/often. Get what you pay for in life it seems.
