yep lookin real nice zen. quick question, how have you got your fans setup ie location of the recirculating ones not any intake or exhaust but details on those would be useful too.
thyme and parsley have their first leaves showing and chives looks about ready to shed the seed pod. i replaced the aerogarden humidity domes with some larger plastic cups yesterday. i also have a a small piece of damp paper towel under the cups.
pics of thyme and parsley attached.
hi gr33n thumb
i do have two fans. one intake and one exhaust. intake is 117m3/h and exhaust is 85m3/h. i think the main problem is that the box is in a cupboard and with the door shut i'm just recirculating hot air. i'll keep monitoring things and make whatever mods i can. at the moment...
75f is what aiming for but i'm averaging 80-85f just using the aerogarden lights. when i had the 2 cfls running instead of the aero hood, the temps went thru the roof and the humidity plummeted.
it's all good experience tho. :peace:
hi volcomi
yeah i guess i have to be more patient for the green to show but i'm also checking to try to gauge and control temp and humidity which is easier said than done. any tips you got would be welcome?
hi indicative
i do have a long cable for when the time comes to go beyond the height limit of the aerogarden but i would like to use my 2 125w cfls if i can control the temps better.
look forward to seeing more of your pics.
hey cheers gypsy.
things are looking good. the first two seeds are starting to show some green and the third is cracking fully open nicely.
i'm finding it hard not to check every couple of hours to see whats going on :)
third seed planted.
cupboard humidity dropped down to 20% but i've got it back up to 40%. the seedling are under domes tho.
temps have been pretty erratic. i pulled the 125w cfls and am just using the ag hood.
hi mebhcc
i'm using an aerogarden, the short one tho, so i'm interested in how you get on. my seedling are only a couple of days old, so they are just poking out.
there are a number of homemade filters on this site but have a look at my journal to see how i am tackling the problem.
all the best.
it will indeed. if i unplug my air intake but leave the exhaust running the intake fan will still spin but at a slower rate. if you have a box in the closet tho you still need to get fresh air into the closet.
best of luck mrweedster
good thread jetset. i have similar issues with reported heat when testing my growbox, it sure didn't feel as hot as the therms said. i have two 48hr germs just planted in a hydro this morning running 2 125w ecolights.
i will be following this grow to learn from you experiences. cheers and...
third seed has started to germ. cracked open but not much else yet. on for a planting tomorrow tho.
the two seeds planted earlier are still in the sponge (near the top) and look like they are ditching their shells.
that's why i said add little sections of sleeve
and oh what else did i say, keeping in mind that you would need to leave decent lengths between sleeves to allow the roots access to the medium :eyesmoke:
i see what you mean (i think), like the aerogarden sort of does. i've read a few things similar to the coil idea but using a stocking so you could train the roots and stop each plants root system from tangling. i haven't actually seen it done tho and i think the roots would end up going thru...
hi gypsy
i understand roughly what you mean as far as bubbles and a coil go but what would be the flowing current in a dwc or have i missed a future mod wolfman is going to do. and no your not crazy it sounds like a very interesting idea.
