i've had no problems with burning them. i have a fan in my homemade reflector to draw the heat out of the top.

yeah i put it on at the start of the grow to cover up the holes and to stop the dark surface absorbing light and heating up.

nearly 4 weeks into veg using cfls. babies are really taking off after some worring times with the 2nd (chives) and 3rd (parsely) plants. lastest pics attached.

indeed your plants aren't green they are a mixture of red and blue using the rgb colour model.

cheers gypsy. my hood is down the back of the tent providing rear lighting with the 2 125 blue enviros on top in a home made hood. if you already knew that, then apologies, just wasn't sure from what you posted. i don't think mine will get as tall as korvettes, i'm gonna start flowering...

i use a syphon to drain the rez when needed. it's too much hassle taking the top off the ag as volcomi says. as for temps causing root rot, my rez temp hangs around 26c/81f and i have no probs.

hi folks here are some pics from earlier today. these babies are going mad :weed:. i've raised the lights again yesterday and topped up the rez today with ph'd nutes today. i also trimmed off the other dodgy leaves from chives (3rd pic).

bro, root soup is well on its way. i've been getting my ph yellow-green but it soon goes blue-blue, like after a day. changing rez so often doesn't seem to be doing the girls any harm. if anything they like it. i think because the water temp drops to a nice 19c but it soon rises to 26c after...
