One more question, does it matter if the shake is still green and wet (right after harvest) or should I dry it out first? I'm planning on leaving it whole, putting it in a mason jar, freezing everything, then doing a very quick first wash. I'll do subsequent washes to get everything I can :)

Sorry, my views are Ontario-centric as I can't speak for how retail is working in other provinces..

The sad fact is, there are probably enough people buying from these retail stores to keep them going, and we must continue to educate those same people as to the reasons they should not shop there, as well as the sick who deal directly with the LP's. I'm sure many of them would enjoy gardening...
