Fox Farm Trio soil is coast of Maine mixed with Happy Frog and I'm doing it every other watering

I thought they were the same thing I was told to get a TDS meter with collaboration solution 1000ppm

I don't have that PPM tester yet I have to get that

How do I watch the runoff EC what does that mean

I just follow the directions on the back of the bottle it says every other watering I'm probably going to do every other other watering
