thats 1.5'x3' for 4 plants. Seems tight for that many plants. Having said that, you have a bunch of options you could leave em like SoG. Or if you're not going to SCRoG you can LST like you mention or top/fim. I think the easiest thing might be LST and Top/fim you can manipulate the branches...
