    2018 light efficiency ultimate battle

The metric is still comparable even with no veg time. Light efficiency shouldn’t be taken in a vacuum. Some super efficient LED grows might need supplemental heat in the winter, where an HID grow may not. The reverse applies to air conditioning in the summer, where it may be needed in an HID...

    2018 light efficiency ultimate battle

Grams per watt metrics are misleading because the length of the veg cycle is not considered. For example, one would expect a higher yield from a CMH grow that vegged for 6 weeks, vs. 2 weeks before flip. IMO, a more accurate metric to use is grams per kilowatt-hours, and to include electric...

How much light is too much ?

Total power consumption of your lights is what matters. 520 (wall draw) watts of LED will make as much heat as 520 watts of T5 or T8.

Switching LED lights the first week of grow, am I safe or too late?

@DillonGrows if you look at the g/watt yield of your HPS and LED grows, they are almost the same. HPS - 300 grams / 400 Watts = 0.75 g/watt. LED - 210 grams / 290 Watts = 0.72 g/watt. The HPS and your blurple LED probably have similar efficiencies.

    Cheap Cobs?

Why are they calling it 100 watts when the actual wattage is 50-55 watts? There were critical reviews, including one that said don't use for cannabis.

Quick question on using portable ac for dehumidifier

If your minisplit ac system cools well but doesn't dehumidify effectively, it is oversized for the cooling load. This could be corrected by modifying the minisplit to more effectively remove humidity, which will make the space more comfortable for you and reduce power consumption.

Using LED Lights (w/outlet connection for linking up to 6 fixtures)

Not quite sure of the geometry you are describing, but if two fixtures rated at 500 at 8 inches are pointed at the same spot 8 inches away, seems the maximum it could be is 1,000. But a plant isn't a spot, and neither is the output of the lights.
