I still don't understand, why play around with it, when I know the exact temperature of the root zone as outlined / shown above? I still am trying to find out the desired / best temperature to have the root zone at..........not the temperature of the tray or air in between? OR have I missed...

I was suppose to start @ 22c and I cannot find a way to add more to the pole? Currently set to 23c. I have been looking at bubbler cloners......would you have a pic of your said cloner? I grow in 2L square/round containers - clone to 12/12 SOG. How do you think the plants root system will go...

I hear ya, but they dont grow weed in the desert, or do they? - Sorry Vostok, but that is a politician's answer to the question posed, You forgot to pick your temp that you would set your thermo to to induce roots? Growing medium, so hydroponic water temp would be no different than soil temp?

I would prefer rockwool as I intend to go hydro in the near future. that is just an experiment to see which one sprouts first. I see you can use jiffys in flood and drain, just make the flood stop short of the jiffy pad etc.

I think the rockwool cubes and jiffy pads would not like the wet continual conditions? So this is where the temperature difference comes in, here we are not sensing the temperature of the roots, but teh temperature of the air between tray and heating mat? These are the ribs on the tray. I...

Heat mat placed under ribbed plastic tray which the clones sit on, so not directly on heat mat. I presume this 'deadband' is terminology speak for swing either side of set point? 90f is nearly 32c + swing of 0.5c, seems high for root zone temp to me? But thus is why I am posting in the newbie...

So the nerf collar is buried when transplanted? Well, if you wanted to you could, or slip it off, or slice it lengthwise etc. I would need 48 collars. You will be surprised how limited in 'plasticware' New Zealand is - very hard to find something that suits your space under 5 litre capacity.

Seen that, how would they handle going 12/12 with tall cuttings? Do they develop enough root mass to support the clone? You will be right as your method is SCROG - mine is SOG
