    Organic PH Up & Down

We all want the best. We have ideals be it organic or not. We try our best. We learn from the best. And we sometimes cook them with the best intentions. I know I have.

    The Person behind the grow?

I grow for the fun of it. Every time I start off I'm thrilled at watching the process. I sell a bit to cover expenses. Give away a lot. What I really like is every grow gives me some kind of GAWD DAMNED PROBLEM AND I SWEAR IT'S THE LAST! But I get seeds from someone or I'm asked if I've got more...

    Organic PH Up & Down

I use Phosphoric acid for down. Chelated calcium which has magnesium at a 2/1 ratio with Potassium hydroxide for up. My understanding is that adding just potassium cuts off access of calcium and vise versa. If you do buy the potassium hydroxide read the directions carefully. I got it in crystal...

Anyone use MYCO JORDAN™ – PROFESSIONAL MYCORRHIZAL INOCULANT? It's fungi.

You may be interested in this book. Changed my perspective on growing anything. I'm not suggesting you buy it through Amazon. It's the only link I could scurry up...

Anyone use MYCO JORDAN™ – PROFESSIONAL MYCORRHIZAL INOCULANT? It's fungi.

Ironically it is parasitic...in a sense. The fungi puncture the root wall. There, the transfer between the plant and fungi of nutrients takes place. The fungi also setup a defense perimeter. This is known as the Hartig net. It surrounds the root with it's webbing fending off a lot of nasties...

Anyone use MYCO JORDAN™ – PROFESSIONAL MYCORRHIZAL INOCULANT? It's fungi.

Using fungi is a great idea. Fungi have much smaller root systems so they extend out to capture nutrients that your plants can't grab. My medium is pea stone and some fungi will actually etch out nutrients from the stone to deliver to your plants. Don't forget this is a symbiotic relationship...

    Fish shit diy??

O.K. I've learned some more about snails. "First, they’re hermaphrodites, fitted with both male and female reproductive plumbing, and can mate with any member of their species they want." Quoted from KQED website. They can also self replicate. Also it appears that they don't necessarily eat live...

Aquaponics..I'm thinking of doing it..Have you?

So I'm at it again. got a few more plants this time. Chocolato. The white stuff underneath is Tyvec. I put in a home made mesh. First time trying this. I usually let them grow free. Beefed up the lighting a bit. One started showing chlorosis. Then another. Threw in some hydrated lime with...

    Quarantining house plants

Me it's a similar story I stick cuttings or any house plant struggling into my aquaponics setup and they perk right up. Some even try to take over. Bite the hand that feeds them:rolleyes:.

    Iron Chelate

So collect rain water. I do aquaponics inside my house and the town water melts my aquarium plants. Actually as an outside gardener I do a lousy job. I keep forgetting to water them. I've had timers and such but everything goes weird. So I'm in the process of setting up an aquaponics setup...

    Quarantining house plants

Damn I never considered quarantining anything. Most of my house plants are the staples. Spiders, Aloe Vera and several other whatever-you-call-thems. I have 6 rubber plants which I put outside every year. I started out with 2 that were given to me. Then learned by accident they easily clone.

    Iron Chelate

Well you have to drop your ph. Simple. As I remember iron works best around 7.0 ph. One way I drop my ph is with phosphoric acid. Others use PH down or some other product. O.K. now...what's your point?

    56 F Kill my Germ!?!?

My wife is on several meds. So I save her pill bottles. Labels removed of course. They're all amber colored or opaque so great for light protection and they're tight fitting. I store all seeds I get from donations in them and label it for what strain they are,(or what strain people think they...

    56 F Kill my Germ!?!?

Good point. But I'm-a-feared. They're all in a second fridge I open maybe once or twice a week. I'll try it though. Gotta friend who passes on all his seeds he finds in his stuff he buys. Not a lot just one or two in bag every now and then. I've done moonshine, Amnesia haze, a few others he...

    56 F Kill my Germ!?!?

I've wondered about that. Any seeds I get I put them in the fridge but didn't think the freezer would also work. I've popped seeds 3 years later.

Spider Mites 2 weeks before harvest!

For 3 grows I battled the mites. The next one I started early with Captain Jack's deadbug. Kept them at bay. The next grow I sprayed every two weeks. Didn't see one. My last grow I sprayed once over everything. Plants, rock base, walls. Nada, not a one. Trick is, as the directions say, hit'em...
