    Auto vs Photo

Thats freaking insane. Thats the first time I've seen autos look like monsters. Do you remember what strains those were? Also, how long did it take to finish?
  2. Farmer's Hat

    Regular seeds

Ive also seen growers pollinate clones that are about 6 inches and in dixie cups. That could also be a simple and controlled way of making some seeds. Take cuttings from a male and female. Keep them small, flower them and let them cross pollinate in a different space, not in your grow...

    Blaze & Daze

Sounds like a freaking nightmare. First outdoor grow I did in WA, most of the plants had to be cut down early. Many of the strains flowered late. I then learned how to force flower hoop houses, working with C4 farms, down in Little Rock. Its amazing to learn from growers who have decades of...

    Blaze & Daze

Good pest resistance is hard to find in most strains because they are bred indoors. I grow indoor and outdoor. The strains I breed outdoors always develop a strong resistance to pests around the second and third generation (f2 -f3). Its a hassle finding strong outdoor strains.

Ive been doing this for a solid 15 years.

    Outdoor sativa grow 2024

Th That is good to know. Im not into the couch lock effect either. Have you ran the RSC or TLT indoors?
  7. Farmer's Hat

    Regular seeds

Respect. Im baffled why this isn't common sense. Its pretty easy to make your own seeds, fem or reg. You dont have to pollinate the whole plant, just dab one or two of the lower larf branches with a q-tip or small brush. There is a lot of YouTube videos that demonstrate different pollinating...

Good morning Took clones of both mothers. Everything is looking happy. Yesterday I had to set up the second net. Greenhouse grow is moving along well. Have a great day everyone!
  9. Farmer's Hat

    Auto vs Photo

I am puzzled by this as well. I created some auto hybrids back in 2013, and they just dont yield as well as photos. Some of the f1 seeds produced plants that got about 4ft but didn't yield hardly anything. Its bizarre. I was also messing around with dwarf autos that produced on average half...

    Outdoor sativa grow 2024

TLT looks really behind. The Ace Malawi looks like a good candidate for a breeding project.

F3 Valley Ice. (Matanuska x SFV OG)

It was minty with a berry aftertaste.
  12. Farmer's Hat

F3 Valley Ice. (Matanuska x SFV OG)

Its looking good so far. I did have to put up the second net today. One of the plants tipped and fell overnight. I was able to lift her up without damaging her. Its a heavy yielder, for sure. I got to sample the hashish. It was an energizing clean the house type of high. I freaking love it...

Found these on a few buds, but not all

Those are sacks with pollen that will produce feminized seeds. Unfortunately a big chunk of the progeny would also inherit this hermaphrodite trait. Its too much of a hassle to successfully grow and harvest a seedless crop from a hermaphrodite plant, thats why most growers say ... kill the hermie.
  15. Farmer's Hat

    og or kush

Everyone is on point with their responses. Unfortunately many of the older strains have a vague history because it was risky to archive data that could incriminate you. I loved smoking OG Kush when I was a teen. I remember it was very popular back then. These days I stay away from strains that...

    They dont look good

Its possible that they are simply stunted. How are the roots looking?

    Nitrogen toxcity

I think that would help. It would be similar to flushing the soil a bit.

    Nitrogen toxcity

Moistening the soil before feeding is essentially the same thing as diluting the liquid fert dose. At least thats how I understand it.

50/50 Coco/Peat mix for base super soil

My only advise is that you consider running strains that are not finicky for your initial soil experiment.
