Who says LED and CMH can't get along?

Got an update on the CMH + High Light room. This is a Chocolope under the same lights.

We sell pre-assembled boards through a local hydroponics shop in Perth, but not online I'm afraid.

The interesting thing about Mean Well drivers is that all the ones we've tested generate more power than their rated specs. That particular driver is rated from 91V-183V but according to the test report it goes down to as low as 0.1V, so you could run one board off it no worries but it won't go...

Aussie High Lights – we're official

Well the good news is you could fit two of our boards to a Slate 2 triple heatsink. The bads news is you can't fit three because our boards are over 1.5x bigger than a Quantum Board so they won't all fit. But the other good news is you wouldn't need to use a heatsink at all with three of our...

You could connect three High Lights in series with that driver, but it wouldn't be a very efficient set-up as it would only draw about 250W (48V x 1.75A x 3 boards). The 320H-C2100 wouild be better, but you would still only get about 300W out of it with three boards.

More THC testing – UVA vs UVB vs near-UV

Ah yes. I know that @Prawn Connery had been following hemp farmers for many years as it was the only form of legal cannabis allowed to grow in Australia and that he based his early design on the information they had shared. The only problem with the information is that the farmers did not know...

More THC testing – UVA vs UVB vs near-UV

That is quite an old experiment now (1987) and there are not a lot of other tests out there comparing different forms of UV but we do know that in our dealings with industrial hemp farmers one of the earlier issues they had was when they imported seed stock from China that was tested at <0.3%...

More THC testing – UVA vs UVB vs near-UV

Yes, if you read the first few posts you'll see that the tests were done on the same clones, in the same media, using the same nutrient in the same area, but by different growers. The growers were all pretty experienced so there were no issues with any of the samples and they all looked similar...

They are around US$20 for one pack of 20x Buddies. Kits with drivers will be available for Australian and New Zealand buyers and we can hep with driver suggestions for overseas buyers as it's cheaper to order dirvers in the destination country once shipping is taken into account.

There has been a slight delay but I've sent you a PM. We did have some of these for pre-sale to RIU members and one of those orders fell through so we shoud be able to accomodate you.

Do you mean the LPV-60-24? We've been recommending the XLG series, as the cost isn't much different and they are pretty robust drivers with better efficiency. The XLG-50 should be pretty close. The report says it puts out about 54W at 24V and 8x Buddies should draw about 57W at 24V, so you will...

    Buddies, side-light and under-canopy LEDs

Hey mate, busy as always I see. How is that replacement double sided tape holding up? Do you have those running off the same driver? I'm always amazed at the ideas people come up with! I've had a bit of an update from LED Teknik. Far Red buddies (730nm), CRI95 4000K and PC Red (660nm) will be...

Well a High Light strip is not entirely out of the question, but it will be some time before we would have one ready. We're just trying to meet current orders at the moment. I'm sorry we can't move faster on this, but we're simply not geared up to produce lots of new products, so we normally...

They are all good, valid points for wanting the board you do. I wish I could say we had a few fuck-up boards lying around, but for the price we pay for Seoul Semiconductor Sunlike LEDs we account for every one of them!

It's all about efficiency. The 5000K "purple pump" Optisolis delivers very high CRI for a high Kelvin chip but is not very efficient and is harder to match on a LED board because it has a lower maximum current rating of 140mA. You can get high CRI with decent efficiency in a warmer chip (<5000K)...
