1 watt is a measure of energy, but energy can be in different forms as I've tried to explain above. An engine produces an accelerative force measured in watts (usually kilowatts), just as a thermal heater is measured in watts, just as a light fixture is measured in watts. You can think of it...

LOL! OK, so it has been a LONG time since I studies this stuff, but this is how I remember it. If a mass is not moving – ie; it is stationary – then the value of its potential energy is mass x the speed of light squared. This is its "resting" energy. If a mass is moving – ie; it has velocity...

You're talking about "thermal energy". "Heat" is the transfer of that energy. Thermal energy can be transferred via touch (conductive), moving air (convective) and radiation.

"Heat" is not a form of energy – it is a measure of potential energy transfer, or the difference in kinetic energy between two molecules. What we think of as "heat" – ie: infrared rays – is just another electromagnetic wavelength. Just like microwaves, gamma rays, x-rays, radiowaves and light...

I use to LED, but now I CMH. for one main reason.

We've done a few tests on this which have surprised a lot people. Namely that UVA, near-UV (400-420nm) and even blue light can stress the plant into increasing cannabinod production just as much as UVB – and in some cases outdo it, as UVB breaks down the cannabinoid precursor THCa as the plant...

Technically this is true. The difference is a heater produces mostly infrared electromagenetic energy which is easily abosorbed by water molecules, which transfers that energy faster – hence why we fell "hotter" under infrared than we do under visible light (which is mainly reflected). A HPS...

Just to set the record straight with my rudimentary understanding of physics, all energy is eventually converted to heat. 150W is 150W and that energy will be released in three forms: convective heat, conductive heat, and radiated heat. Radiated heat takes the form of any electromagnetic wave –...

You can PM if you like, or email me at [email protected]. We've only got a few boards this run to sell as DIY, but once we've got more stock we'll put them up on the website.

With 10% GST and the 10% FORUM discount (which cancels out GST), it is very close. As in, identical. And yes, for that you get a non-coated board, plus matching heatsink plus screws plus a matching TE connector plug with 18AWG wires (200mm long). Add $15 for a wate-resistant board. The TE...

We have plenty of the new heatsinks in stock. Same price. The only issue is you would need to drill a few 3mm holes. Other than that, they're 34mm longer, slightly heavier, and will work slightly better than the old heatsinks due to the increase in size and weight. I'm going to put them up on...

If you don't think there is any difference between our UV boards and Cutter or HLG or any other 2700-3500K diode, then we still have 14x High Red boards in stock as well as 4x UV boards. If want them that much, put your money where your mouth is. And it's not in our nature to fob people off...

Perhaps. But what you may or may not understand is that to produce the old boards at the current (discounted) price, we needed to assemble 300+ at a time. That takes time, money and resources we have needed to put into the new boards. Of those 300 boards, how many people are going to buy them...

Unfortunately not mate. The new boards are 48V/5A and the old ones are a 50V/4.5A. We made the decision to produce a <48V board so that it would be compatible with all 48V constant voltage type drivers, such as Mean Well B types and Inventronics etc.

A single 220W will fill that area. Here it is hanging in a 750mm x 600mm tent. The lights were turned down for the photo and you obviously wouldn't have the driver inside the tent, but it is a nice fit. We are waiting on LED Teknik to produce some IES files for us so that we can start electronic...

Conservartion of energy means energy (and matter) can neither be created nor destroyed. 150 watts is 150 watts. That energy is eventually converted to heat – if not in the first instance (thermal, conductive or radiated heat – which includes light), then eventually in the biomass that is...

There will be a 470W side-by-side kit (2 boards) that will measure about 510mm x 480mm (20" x 19") that will cover up to a 4'x4' area and will effectively replace a 630W CMH-750W HPS in the same space with better efficiency and coverage. Or there will be an option to run 4 boards in there on two...

You are not in the minority. Many of the growers we've dealt with both locally andf overseas have expressed concerns about putting kits together themselves. They are just average growers with no wiring experience. We spend a lot of time with these people explain hwo things go together and...

The new boards are 430mm long compared to 415mm for the old boards, but are the same width. So they will fit the old heatsinks – as well as the HLG double and triple heatsinks – but the holes won't line up and you will need to drill them out. Also, if you are using an existing GLA heatsink...

They will both produce the same amount of heat because they are both running at 150W – that's thermodynamics. The difference is in the light they produce. If you feel there is no benefit to running our boards, then we can hardly convince you otherwise – even though we have real-world tests that...
