The plant will grow slower, and end up a little smaller compared to others from the same pack of seeds, because of the broken tap root. It will still finish, and give you buds, it’ll just have a little harder time doing it.

Mothers can get infested with pest or disease. Seeds are the only true way to preserve the genetics. I’ll forever be kicking myself for not breeding more seeds while I had some elite clone onlys in the garden. All the mothers got spider mites one summer and that was the end of those plants.
