man, that 135lum/w efficiency seems a bit low though :( (does IR/Red affect this number a lot?) I feel like you have spoiled us too much to where I'm being too picky. I'm hoping for more of a bar style vs these board styles but this is a hard one. Even the driver cost more than the price of...

    Free Grow Software!

Oh! I am! I think it depends on your skill or maybe your tinker ability if that makes sense? I'm super new to raspberry pi(uh, first time I opened one) and was able to set it up but I like to tinker with stuff. I think one of the biggest obstacles you might face is the money. If you can...

Does anyone store their per gallon nute doses in centrifuge tubes?

Ah, I was just trying to suggest an alternative to your original question of "pre preparing nutes in capsules". Not really full fledged automation of your setup. No need to prepare the capsules, if you don't really have to do anything when you need them. Ex. Put a tube and pump in each of...

Does anyone store their per gallon nute doses in centrifuge tubes?

Hmm, any thoughts on some sort of automation? Raspberry pi + relay + PSU + peristaltic pump? Pi - $40 Relay for 8 pumps - $12 Dual output meanwell powersupply(PSU) for Pi(5v) and Pumps(12v) - $20 Peristaltic Pumps - $12ea x 8? I currently run Mycodo software on my pi and monitor my PH, EC and...

Yup, woot is legit - Thanks for the find, was looking for a cheap one recently just as more of a drying tent. Woot was bought out by amazon years ago and basically became a sell out of sorts. The initial creators of woot went on and started Meh.com. They do the bags of crap but call them...

Some newb decided to ask for a light in this thread instead of another and then tagged an older member. Newb is newb and doesn't seem to understand what is needed or how to pick light outside of reading the product name. Newb should have started a new thread or done some reading around here...

Methods of monitoring pot water levels

hmm, how do you plan on setting up your RDWC I guess should be the first question? Sounds like you plan on pulling water from the sites back to the rez? If so, you have a point, but if you did the opposite and pushed water to the sites, the "overflow" pipes shouldn't be an issue...

Methods of monitoring pot water levels

I was pondering this the other day. I currently use 2 inch pipe for the return on the bottom (pumping about 700gph to 4 sites in a waterfall RDWC) but the roots of my plants pretty much fill all the space the water is in and I reach in daily/every other day to make sure the pipe doesn't get...

    First build, thank you Guys!

lol all of your hooks attached to your frame are different.... Back on topic though. I am using probably the same display thing you are to see the power on the DC side and I too can not seem to get it to the max on 240w meanwells. I'm assuming it is either the display is faulty, the display...

Houston, we have a problem. DEAD SHORT IN LINES

To add a data point - My fuse box is in my unfinished basement. To add 2-15 amp fuses, and add 2-GFCI outlets to the basement walls cost me $550. For one outlet, they used conduit already installed and probably used 4 pieces that they brought with them. So for maybe $100 in materials, I...

DIY Design- First Build (input welcome)

This is somewhat cheating though. Yes they CAN cost less....when they are 80%-90% off (like in the thread you link and purchased during). But at full price of $12, a $5 heat sink (24" 1"x1" from tnutz is $5.30) is cheaper than buying even 1 more light. If my time machine still worked, that...

What are your led heat sinks reading ..?

I have an oscillating fan blowing across my heat sinks cause I thought they felt pretty warm initially. It's crazy how much a small breeze cools them down to where I barely feel any heat on them now. Didn't check the temps though so no idea where it was prior to the fan.

    6 Plant LED Light Recommendation

I mean, this dude below seems to have done fine with that light (or similar enough) - A lot bigger room and a lot more lights but as far as not knowing the brand, it's a pretty popular brand to those on a budget and seems to have good results...

    Light opinion

lol I think ya'll should ask what currency and location this is. Judging by that light in the OP, it does not look sold outside of South Africa? 1500-2000 south african rands is only about $90 to $120USD. OP correct me if Im wrong but based on the post history of the OPs first grow, $1,500...

    Building a Led

Pretty sure OP is talking about a board similar to this but 4 of them on 1 heatsink. Hydrokid attempted to google sunboard and came up with the strips. There is about a 5-10% efficiency difference between the LM561C diodes on the strips and the LM301B diodes on the boards, although the same...
