Personally I think you would be better off using smart pots and elevating them. I was able to locate a YouTube video where they use the technique you're talking about I think. Keep in mind, you need to factor in height. Alternately I'm using a burlap sack.

All right. You might want to sit down for this. Jesus is a girl! The clone of the snapped branch isn't doing so well. I've had to redip. I also accidentally made another clone of bell. I ended up just plopping them all into my little grow tent and hydrating the hell out of it.
