look up the handytrimmer, urban grower did a run with it on youtube that might be what your after, trimming is a pain in the ass but its got to be done, personally i think that the power trimmers are good for big commercial gardens but i wouldnt use one but thats just me. as far as bag seed goes...

a general rule of thumb is 1000 watts per bedroom in the house, like a 3 bedroom could run 3-4 1000 watt lights and still be under the radar, other things you can do is add a gas stove if yours is electric, gas water heater and gas dryer, but with 1200 watts its really not nessasary

any green light will do, incandescent, cfl, led, i have used them all with nothing bad, green is the only color they dont absorb, thats why they look green
