Not even in theory, spent fuel eventually turns into iron destroying the star. If you add more hydrogen, the star will just get bigger speeding up the process of destruction. The irony is that our sun is already small and will burn for much longer than most stars.

the whole point behind life is to survive, and the way life survives is through progression if everything was static then there would be no point to do anything, the fact that the sun is going to burn out is immaterial, before then other stars may explode which may sends bursts of gamma rays...

I also just started growing indoors with a 400w setup, currently using bag seed because seeds are expensive.

Its now day four (day 25 from germination) that the plants are under the MH and they have responded well. The tubular bulb made no difference to the heating, infact it runs hotter but temps in the grow area is stable at around 27 degrees.

I managed to get a clear tubular light this afternoon, the coated eliptical one I sensed was not really heat efficient.

Quake been playing for 15 years, not terribly good but I do enjoy it, spend about 4 hours a day playing.

yeah I did upgrade to the metal halide :) I was running the CFL for the first three weeks so far but will switch again when I leave the flat tomorrow just so that they have light, when I come back from my errands I will put the metal halide back on them.

Thanks for looking at my thread and posting the valuable comment. Yeah I am very mindful of fires, the extractor fan I have installed is specifically to cool that bulb, at the moment temperatures in the grow area is around 24 degrees. If you are saying your cooltube posed problems with heating...

nothing wrong with that, I just used a 85w CFL on my four bag seed seedlings for 3 weeks, and switched to a 400w metal halide 3 hours ago.
