Why isn't grams per square foot used more often?

I haven't smoked any buds from my COB build yet but they already grew bigger, frostier and faster. If it gets me as high as it did grown under an HPS then COBs are a no brainer.

I have a 4x8 flower area with one 4x4 area using 1000W HPS and the other side is 16, 3590 COBs. The plants on the edge of the 4x4 HPS area are all leaning towards the COBs. They love them.
