I used a friends phone and the readings average about 50k with a range as low as 35 in the corners. 3 inches under canopy im getting like 20k. Directly under the cfl im getting 65k.The two cfls add 6℉ each to the 40 cubic foot grow tent. Bringing my temp 84 at canopy level.

Thank you for the tip, i'll d/l a lux meter app. I have a light sensor the reads " high intensity" at canopy level. I don't think there is guess work. As long as the temp is right you want a light a close as possible, while still being in the direct footprint of the beam. My canopy temp is 72F atm.
