I only use cannabis trim in my boakshi bucket. I know the worms love the stuff because about two hours after I add it to the top of one of my bins they all come to the surface and eat.
Buildasoil recommends peat moss for their no till system. Could I use a coco/peat moss mix like Roots instead? Does the higher CEC of the 100% peat moss buildasoil mix make a huge difference in the end?
I’d hold off on using bat guano for nitrogen in your initial soil mix. IMO, and it’s amateur at best, Bat guanos are more suitable for top dressing in no tills because of their quick bioavailability.
That budget needs some work. Knowing what I know today...If i were brand new to growing and had $1700 to start a 4x4 tent I would buy DIY COBs from @RainDan and already mixed soil/nutrient kit from Buildasoil.
Get it done man. My wife is Cambodian born in Thailand at a refugee camp. Have fun in the Motherland!! Do you ever bring landrace seeds back? Right now I’m growing some Thai from World of Seeds and a Cambodian landrace cross from Nirvana.
Mulching has been an issue for me. It can’t be dusty. I don’t want to track in bugs. I don’t want it to be messy either. What about a coco coir tree ring?
Does anyone have any indoor mulching ideas? I’d like to keep my living soil containers moist on the surface. My fear is that organic mulch will bring in bugs that I don’t want to fight.
