I agree with smppro, the best way to tell with a strain you're unfamiliar with is to look at the trichs.

I'll bet that design is almost silent. The only downside I see is you lose some aeration from the waterfall effect. Don't know if that extra O is needed or not.

Your method works for me on strains I've grown before, but on a new strain I still like to eyeball the trichomes. I usually adjust my harvest date guess a few days either way after I get a good look at them, so maybe you are just more in tune with the plants.

I use it. Imagine bubblewrap covered with mylar. Great stuff. Heavy duty, cleans-up easy, deadens sound, etc. and it is very reflective.

Another reason they are relatively poor reflectors is you are sending your light through some thick glass - not once but twice. Scientific mirrors minimize this as much as possible, but any mirror we could lay our hands on has pretty thick glass.

What kind of light? Unless it's a HID you can forget about over lighting them and worry about your real problems. Your plant need to be fed. Take care of it.
