i would do at least four to speed up veg time, and to make sure i don't have empty spaces wasting light. fewer plants will take more time to veg, or you end up wasting light and have a smaller yield then you should.

this is the my first round with this set up, i changed from the five gallon ebb n flow buckets to using 3 gallon grow bags on top of air injected stones in dollar store buckets. i expect at least a couple of the girls to be lighter yielding but i should end with somewhere near 3 lbs when done.

1/4 strength is about right. my simple method for mixing nutes is to use a five gallon bucket and put in the amount listed on their chart that's listed to use per gallon. keeps the ec under .8. can't imagine running at recommended dosage, don't understand why companies list such high amounts...

if you don't mind spending the money, get the bigger with a fan controller. gives you some control on noise and temps. as long as incoming air is cool that much air flow should be way more than enough for a 600.

the bigger the better. for less than 200 cu ft i'd suggest a fan that moves more than 300 cfm. how ever much the filter reduces it you should still get plenty of air flow. a 500 cfm wouldn't be overkill, imo. might be a little more noise though.
