To make 1 gallon of 0.028% solution of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) using 5.25% liquid sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Obtain a clean, empty container that can hold at least 1 gallon of liquid.
  2. Measure out 78 ml of 5.25% liquid sodium hypochlorite (NaClO).
  3. Slowly add the sodium hypochlorite to the container, being careful not to splash it.
  4. Slowly add 1 gallon of distilled or purified water to the container.
  5. Stir the mixture until the sodium hypochlorite is fully dissolved.
  6. Your 0.028% solution of Hypochlorous Acid is now ready to use.
1 Quart of NSF Grade (food grade) 5.25% Sodium Hypochlorite is ~$15 on Amazon.

CAUTION: Sodium Hypochlorite is dangerous to deal with in concentrated form, use glasses if you can and wear some gloves ya stoner. Treat it like some very strong pH down when handling it.

Saving you the math that makes a gallon of any of these brands ACTUALLY cost $1.25 per gallon.

Not the same thing. Pool shock not only isn’t intended for food use but also contains far more than sodium hypochlorite in my opinion making it potentially unsafe and unpredictable in comparison.

What's Inside HTH Pool Care Chlorinating Granules
  • Sodium Chloride. The mother of all chlorine products. ...
  • Calcium Hypochlorite. ...
  • Calcium Chloride. ...
  • Calcium Carbonate. ...
  • Calcium Chlorate. ...
  • Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate.

The basic formula is just calcium hypochlorite.

Don't eat buds dude (emojis don't work on my phone, so imagine a little dude with sunglasses smoking a fat doink)

Hi there.
Very interesting. I tried pool shock once, but the nutes I am using(Remo) caused the chlorine to leave the solution by the time it was finished mixing. I used test strips that would test free chlorine from 0 to 10ppm. I mixed the chlorine in the RO water first to a ppm between 3 and 4ppm. Tested after nutes mixed in and there was no sign of chlorine on the next test strip at all. Maybe your formula would work...

The easiest best sterile system Ive tried is hydrogen peroxide, I add to every feed at 100ppm and have never had a problem, since I started its been the best ride Ive had, before this I was getting all sorts of issues starting from root problems and then it cascades from there, since adding the Peroxide to every feed everything from cuttings to adults are just powering.

Im on rainwater and the Peroxide I use is 50% which I got 20ltrs from a cleaning company.

h202 just causes fall out too often on my nutes. cleanse has worked wonders just got 5 gal for 180 today....
I got no issues with it showing up, Im using Canna Coco nutes plants are blemish free pristine, I run to waste in coco/perlite media they get 4 x 1minute feeds per 12 hrs, the 3rd feed gives runoff, do whatever works best for you.
