i want to run soil, will u help me on my jureny? I need to know how u feed and what mix ur soil is. the reason i stoped doing soil is no matter what or how little i burned them. i have soil with nutes in it, it worked realy good. but it only last 30 days, ran out of nutes to early. its an amazon bloom with Earth Juice nuts. I have 4 soil now in this amazon bloom mixed with my hydro mead but i dont like. it dont drain wright. I know one should use 1/3 vermiculight and perlight and ?????? what is the best soil to use?

do you think it is worth it to keep a hermie around? i know you can cut the pollen sacks off, but it seems a lot of work and risk. but i would love to keep the bud if i can with out pollinating my fem plant. what ya think? you harvested a hermie right?

You want your PH in soil to be 6.5 ish. (6.3-6. 5.5 is for hydro. Its a small window really, hence all the fuss. The PH of your medium will be somewhere between the PH of the water you pour in and the PH of the water that comes out the bottom. The size of your pot and the amount of water you pour through will affect this of course but thats the basic idea. I'd Start by making your water 7.0 and pour it through, see what it comes out as. If it comes out @ph 6 , you're probably golden. If its less than that you need some ph+ NEXT water. if its in the 5's keep pouring PH 7 through untill the runoff comes up to the 6's. i collect the runoff in a shot glass. If i pour a gallon in i can collect and test 3 or more runoff samples during 1 watering. the last one i believe to be the most accurate. Rinse your tester off REALLY good in between tests. It is possible to affect too drastic of a CHANGE in PH too quickly. So if its WAY off change it gradually if possible.

These were a week or so ago at 4 weeks 12/12, from the floor they're about 20 in tall. And about 10 - 15 inches tall from the top of the buckets. I'm conservative in my estimates as i am in most things lol.

found a digital pen ph tester on craigslist. $20. pretty pimp. it retails a little over $100. doesnt do ppm tho. i think the ph is what is hurting my plants tho. good call on that. the thing what confuses me about adjusting ph is how do you know what the ph of the soil is so that you know what to make the water, follow me? does that even make sense?

is the idea that the soil will be what ever you set the ph of the water to be? so if you do a really good watering on some really dry soil and flush out all the soil in the pot with water of a 5.5 ph will that make it so the soil has a 5.5ph. isnt that about what you want? 5.5 ph?
is the equation, ph of water=ph of soil?

it seems like if you plan on having 10-15 colas per plant on plants that have vegged for 50 days, and i assume you are going to flower for 9 full weeks. that is going to be a giant harvest, atleast that is what i assume seeing as i still have never harvested any plants. but still sounds like maybe more than 3 oz. per plant, most likely arround there. i have read and heard of giant plants producing up to and more than 5 oz. on a huge 6 foot plant, or bigger even. how tall are those plants if you vegged them for 50 days and got them flowering for 5 weeks. they probably only have a week or two before they have maxed out in height and width. by now i bet most of the energy of the plant is going toward producing fat buds.

im gonna update my grow journal tommorow and maybe you could help me out with why my new growth still curls under at the end of the leaves

the article on soil science pertaining to excess hydrogen in soil turning it acidic was very interesting, but does that article really apply to potted plants? it seems it would only pertain to growers whom have been growing in the same soil outside for years. at any rate i am sure getting the proper ph is mad important.

also i saw your first journal from about a year ago. very very cool and impressive for a first grow man, congrats. made my grow just feel silly. how come you only got 7.2 oz. from 6 plants though? i was under the impression a plant typically yeilds 2-3 ounces per plant and sometimes 4. right? am i just in weed dream land?

and it's interesting how your cfls are just hanging like that. i never thought of that. i was planning on screwing the fixtures to some wood, similar to seemorebuds cfl grow. but now fuck it. might as well just hangem from the wires and staple them to the ceiling. what you think?

I have the same problem w/ my plant, It is about 2 and a half months and only has 8 leaves, its still green and has new growth but it is at a complete standstill for what seems to be about a month, Does any one have any suggestions?

thanks for your help. though i think the problem was a N and K deficiency. cuz i had soft stems and they old lower leaves were turning yellow. so well see if that works plus i think i needed to get more air to my roots cuz it kinda stopped growing

hey thanks for replying to my problem. i see you are very helpful to many people i hope i can bother you some more. my plant was having stem problems. i spray my plant with seltzer water every couple of hours. could that be the problem?

Sorry to bother you, but your the only one who has replied. I put a couple of pics of the bad leaves up. Hope you can see. Leaves on plants start out with mild spots that turn into these. Any thing helps.
